He's Back!

This week I have started watching my nephew again. This time for 3 days a week and at my house! So this weekend we baby proofed our house. It needed to be done in a few months anyways. Our house definitely looks like babyland! It has been 4 months since I last had him and I am not kidding he has grown twice his size! and Allie is so small compared to him. I put him on our changing table and his legs almost spill over the table! I guess all kids look huge when you have a 3 month old. It is good to have him again. Allie loves to watch him and he is the best kid - and a good napper too!

Always Listen To Your Gut!

When Allie was a few weeks old she started to make a ton of grunting noises while sleeping. I would lie awake listening to her and knowing it didn't sound normal. Everyone thought I was overreacting, including Matt and just said she was a noisy sleeper. For weeks I tried to tell myself the same thing but each night I would kick myself for not calling the doctor about it. I am so glad I listened to my gut because when I took her in they thought she might have reflux and put her on some meds. Within days she was sleeping silently. But despite the medication helping her discomfort it does not stop her from spitting up, and boy does she spit up. This week Matt, myself several times and Matt's sister have all been drenched by her spit up. and I mean drenched!

Someone Stole My Clothes!

Matt has started going to the gym at 5am now. He gets his work clothes all ready puts them in a garment bag, then showers and gets ready at the gym. Last month he worked out and then headed to the locker room to get ready. He gets his key out and precedes to open the locker. When he looked inside it was empty! He started to freak out thinking "Someone stole my clothes! Now what am I going to do. I have to be to work in 30 minutes!" Then he opened the locker next to his and found his clothes. He had put the lock on the empty locker next to his.

Thankfulness

Over the last few months I have been experiencing a new emotion, one I have never really experienced before. I can only describe it as pure joy. Each day I love to watch her sleep and I literally thank the Lord every single day for her being here in my life. She started smiling at us last month and coos so much that we can have a conversation with her. Life feels so much fuller when you have a little person in your life.

Matching Ornaments

Every year Matt and I get each other ornaments and usually we can find pretty cool ones online. A few years ago I got him a mini Boston Red Sox Fenway Park ornament with a mini green monster and all. It is currently his card hold for poker. So as I was searching for Allie's baby's first christmas ornament I ran across one that was really cool for Matt so I bought it! I have always cherished my baby's first christmas ornament and I found a matching one for Matt! Since he was born in the same year I just bought him the boy version. It was amazing that someone was selling a 1982 Hallmark ornament.

2 Months Old!

I can't believe it's been 2 months already. It has been such a blessing to have her in our lifes. We are loving every second. Look how big she is. So much bigger then last months pictures. Happy New Year everyone!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas and it was so special spending it with Allie. After our little family Christmas we went to my parents house for breakfast and more presents! With my family we still get presents for everyone so with 3 kids in the family plus spouses/girlfriend and both parents and now 4 kids in the family (the kids usually get more then one) it comes out to be alot of gifts. You'll know what I am talking about when you get to that picture!

This is all the gifts I was talking about. Oh and my brother got me a new crock pot! I guess it pays to do your shopping last minute sometimes. :)

Later that night we had my extended family over for dinner and it was about 25 people jammed into the house. It was so loud that by the end of the night all three of us were exhausted and ready to sleep.

Happy Birthday Heather!

My sister's birthday was on Christmas and to make sure she was properly celebrated we got together on Christmas Eve. We ate birthday burritos, cookies, and cheesecake. Happy birthday Heather! I love you lots. :)

Some of Heather's gifts weren't delivered due to the weather so my mom cleverly wrapped some old slippers in place of her new slippers.

Stew Fiasco

On Saturday when the snow started to really come down we made it to the store so we wouldn't get trapped with nothing to eat. I decided I wanted to make crock pot stew. Perfect for this kind of weather and it's soooo good. So yesterday I put Allie in her bouncy chair and put her just outside the kitchen were she could see me and I put on Christmas music. I started to chop the veggies when she started to fuss. So I put her bouncy chair right beside my leg and bounced it as I chopped. I call this making stew "The Mom Way". :) She fell asleep pretty quickly and I finished up. About 30 minutes later Matt says he hears a popping noise coming from the crock pot. I look up and it is pouring black smoke from the side. I quickly unplugged it. It left a pretty good black mark on the counter but we got it out. So now I am stuck with a broken crock pot and $10 worth of uncooked meat! Thankfully we live close to the Roth family so Matt walked 5 blocks in the ice and snow to borrow theirs. Thanks to the Roth's for saving my stew! and thanks to Matt for walking all that way for me. :)

Blizzard in Sellwood!

We have been happily hanging out all weekend but by Christmas we may get stir crazy. Matt has taken a few walks to the store and to play shuffle board with Mike Roth. :) I love the feeling of not being able to leave because you get very inventive with your time. I have been baking a ton in hopes of bringing them to Christmas.
