Happy Birthday Shawn!

My brother turned 29 on Thursday and we got together to celebrate. He had requested a chinese food restaurant from a place we have eaten at since we were young, Chu's. SOOOOO Good! Each year at least one person requests this as their b-day dinner and I am glad they do! We had a good time celebrating. I think what was great about the night is that my sister has turned into my brother. She gave him a gift wrapped in.... THE BAG IT CAME IN! That is totally something my brother has done for years. It was like the twilight zone.

Yesterday as we were driving to my sisters Matt started to turn down a street that wasn't theirs. and it's not like he hasn't been there before - we used to LIVE there! :) This was just a follow up to sundays post. hehe Love you honey!

Where Are We Going?!

This morning we were on our way to church and we were about 5 minutes away from the house when Matt realized we were headed in the opposite direction!  Sometimes Matt spaces but usually I catch it before we take a wrong turn but this morning I was just going with it.

Pictures of the Fun

Last Saturday my sister and I kidnapped my mom for a day full of spa treatments, lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, and shopping!

Happy Birthday Mom!

We celebrated my moms b-day yesterday. I was hoping to have the pictures up last night but we were tired when we got home. We ate yummy Olive Garden, she opened some awesome presents, and we watched Big Brother. It was a fun night. I will share some pictures tonight. Happy Birthday Mom. Your the best. I learn from your example everyday and soak up the love that your shower me with. You are the strongest person I know and you can get through anything. I love you!

They Have Meetings

There is this corner we call the "Hippie Corner" just a few blocks away from our house.  Basically it has some creepy paintings on the concrete, some really creepy sculptures and no stop signs. Matt says hippies don't want to follow "The Mans" rules.  Well you may know that Matt is afraid and hates cats.  When we were driving by he just about freaked out because there were three cats sitting on one of the benches.  I just about died laughing when he said they get together and have meetings to plan and plot.

Happy Love Day!

We started the night out with dinner at Gino's a great Italian restaurant 1 minute from our house.  Highly recommended by our neighbors.  I had ravioli and Matt had a pasta dish called Nonna Jeans Pasta which was a sauce made up of simmered beef, pork ribs, and pepperoni over penne pasta.  He was in heaven.

Matt then surprised me with my favorite cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory!  Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Dough and he got for himself Praline Caramel Turtle.  Complete with milk.  Yum!

I then received some very thoughtful gifts and we watched The Wedding Singer (it was the movie we saw on our first date and our first dance at our wedding was the song he sings to her on the plane)

Whats That On Your Back?

When Matt was out of work he babysat our 4 month old nephew Will alone for the first time. He was praying for no diaper change but he wasn't so lucky. Will exploded about 3 times in a row so up to the changing table to change his very first diaper and it was a doozy. He changed a very gross green diaper and proceeded to snap his onsie closed. My older nephew Nathan (13 in March) picked him up and when he turned around the green was all up Wills back. Nathan almost threw Will at Matt. So Matt learned that you need to check the back before you snap him up.

Superbowl Sunday

I have been meaning to post this all week but better late then never right.  We had a great time over at the Durias's house.  We laughed, cried (me over the Patriots), and ate 200 chicken wings with 5 different flavors thanks to Mindy.  It was great fun.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is the first day of lent. Its a day where we can prepare our hearts for the next seven weeks until we celebrate Easter. We have a service at church which is very quiet and beautiful and during the service we each receive an ash cross on our forehead. It is a symbol for our need for forgiveness, and for our desire for renewal. Lent is a time of reflection and sacrifice, and in doing so we rededicate our lifes to Christ. This is one of my favorite times of the year during which I feel renewed and purified in Christ.

Thanks Everyone!

I just wanted to thank everyone that prayed for us while I was looking for work.
I love my new job and it was a complete answer to prayers. I have felt so blessed in the last two weeks. Last week was my first full week of sales and this morning I was given two awards one for Top Producer in the company and one for The Presidents Club. I received a lot of cool perks along with a half days paid vacation and one hundred dollars put in a vacation fund for me. It was quite a first week.  So thanks again for all the support.

Pink Dream. Yum

Did anyone else love the taste of Amoxicillin when they were younger? I loved that stuff! Yesterday my coworker picked up a presciption for her son and I mentioned I liked the taste. She had me smell it and it brought me back to my childhood.
